Omani Father's School Incident Leads to Verdict Overturn

A peace court in Oman sentenced a Jordanian citizen to two months in prison and a fine after his son filed a complaint against him, accusing him of assaulting him at school while picking up his grades. After the verdict was issued, the father's lawyer filed an appeal, stating that the father's actions were a reaction to his son's behavior in school, including aggression, insults, and disrespect. The father emphasized that his goal was discipline, not harming his son, and that he continued to care for him, including hiring private tutors for educational support. He also pointed out that the original complaint was filed by the son's mother, who is not legally authorized to file a complaint on behalf of a minor child under the age of 15. Based on this, the court accepted the appeal, overturned the verdict, and halted the legal proceedings against the father, as the original complaint was filed by an unauthorized party under the Criminal Procedure Code and civil laws concerning guardianship over minors.
