
The Oman national team will meet with the Bahrain team today at 20:30 local time at Al-Sib Stadium in the group stage of the Western Asia Championship among youth teams. The tournament takes place in Oman from March 19 to 25. The Oman national team arrived in the capital, Muscat, last Sunday and held two training sessions with all players.
The squad of the national team includes the following players: Said Al-Makdumi, Adli Khatim, Ali Abdullah Al-Safaar, Marzouq Al-Badavi, Mubarak bin Zama, Mansour Al-Manhali, Hamis Al-Mansouri, Yousuf Al-Marzuki, Zaid Hamis, Mansour Al-Balushi, Hamdan bin Baseidan, Jamal as-Saadi, Abdalaziz ash-Sharifi, Sulayman Sussu, Ali Abdulaziz, Saif Al-Manhali, Mutur Zaal, Hazim Mohammmed, Antonio Khiyat, Mohammmed Khalil, Ayd Al-Hamadi, Maid Al-Kas, Saif Salem, Geit Abdullah, Yanik Mueller, Isa Al-Hafaan, and Junior Ndaye.
All teams are participating in the tournament: Oman, Emirates, Iraq, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Lebanon, and Kuwait. They are divided into four groups, where the Oman national team is in the second group along with the Bahrain team.
According to the tournament rules, each team plays one match in the group stage. The four winning teams from the groups advance to the playoffs, from where two winners will progress to the final, while the losers will compete for places with the third-placed teams.
The matches of the second round will take place in the following bracket, where the winner from the Oman national team’s group will meet with the winner of the group in which Oman or Saudi Arabia participates, in the playoffs. The losing teams will compete for third place in the overall standings.
